The unique park garden surrounds the 19th-century Landhuis Oosterhouw. This Groningse Pronkjewail has a unique charm and amazes many. With its distinctive neoclassical appearance, it proudly showcases its rich history. Built in 1868, the landhuis housed four generations of Hogeland notaries in its first 100 years. Later, it became a doctor's practice and provided care to the residents of the village of Leens. In 1989, the renowned poet C.O. Jellema and landscape architect K.T. Noordhuis purchased Oosterhouw. It became a source of inspiration for Jellema's work. The landhuis still houses the poet's literary library.
After exploring the four garden styles in the park garden, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on the terrace. There is a shop with fun and diverse items. Continue your experience of the expansive Groningen landscape through various cycling and walking routes!
