Hiking in Waddenland
Lace up those shoes for an adventure in the Waddenland region. With so many wonderful options for a lovely walk, this is where you start your hike all the way to the other side of the Netherlands – if you wish. If that’s a bit too long for you, simply start a shorter route and take in some local gems. Before you know it, you’ll have walked half the soles off your shoes with the handy Waddenland Routeland app.
Pieterpad
Traversing the Netherlands vertically starts – or ends – in Waddenland. Follow the Pieterpad, approximately 500 kilometres long, to walk from the village of Pieterburen to the Sint-Pietersberg in Maastricht. You don’t have to go all the way! Instead, you might consider taking one or more of three Groningen stretches to explore the province. We don’t expect you to go venture out all the way to Limburg, so feel free to stick around.
