Atelier/Galerie Aparterie
"Anything worth looking at and discovering more often can be captured in a painting." Artist Maria Clobus' work ranges from miniatures to large paintings. Visitors are often amazed by all these different techniques.
Take a look
Since 1985, Maria Clobus-Gibcus has been painting as an autodidact in her studio. Besides portraits of people and animals, realistic and abstract subjects are also regularly on the easel, both as free work and on commission. Maria Clobus works in pencil, pastel, acrylic, watercolour and oil, from miniature to large sizes.
"Recently, I have made a lot of new miniatures, of people and animals. These are small paintings of 10x10 centimetres. Actually, this takes as much time as a large painting, because it comes so precisely, with faces and eyes. My studio is now set up as an exhibition, of all the work I have made."
Twice a year, from mid-October and from mid-January, a course starts and is taught in the studio. Small groups of up to eight people can work with a variety of materials in their preferred technique.
