The theme of the Healthy Ageing Week is mental health. During the Healthy Ageing Week, from the 4th till the 13th of October, you can go on a journey through the city and the province of Groningen to learn more about mental health. Discover what mental health really means, why it is such an important topic and what you can do to take good care of your body and mind. We made a selection from the 49 healthy activities.
Go hiking
Multiple days – Sitting is the new smoking, which is why we are all going to hike during the Healthy Ageing Week. Multiple organizations are preparing route. You could for example get to know Chiwalking, a new way of walking that’s super healthy for both your body and soul. Or enjoy nature in the province together with Sanne, who will show you how nature can help you to get in touch with yourself and to relax.
Checkers for everyone
6th till the 11th of October –If you want to stay in shape, you need to work out. That is not only the case for your body, but also for your brain! No worries, it doesn’t require doing boring exercises, you can simply play some checkers. A game of checkers is packed with strategy and strategic thinking is something you need every day. That is why everyone can participate in this checkers workshop from the gentlemen of het Fitte Brein. Who is going to win?
